Five Little Questions

I found this book as a result of working with high school girls over the past year. Dannah Gresh is an amazing Christian speaker to high school girls. I was inspired by her spirit and knowledge, not to mention to her impact. As a result I went looking for a book that would apply to a married young woman, and thank God I found it!
The book itself is a quick read, but the challenges are time consuming. So if you want a good book that will challenge you to dig deep and really work on your personal relationship with God this is a great book. I strongly recommend the companion workbook (I purchased the workbook for my Kindle while I had the book itself out from the library) because the in depth level the workbook adds to the book really set up you to examine where you stand with Jesus and God.
There are so many books out there right now that tell you how to focus your life and what should be at the top of your priorities list that I am sure you are tired of reading them. For me however, this book helped to peel away the unnessary parts of my "to-do list" and realize that God is making a "to-do list" for me, I just have to shut up and listen to it. And that is extremely difficult. In the short time since I finished the book, and started working on my "MAP" (you will learn what this is if you decide to read this book) I have been surprised how rewarding my daily goals are. After long prayers asking God to open my eyes and ears to His desires for me I have found energy I never thought I could find to get through my daily lists. And let me assure that many of the things on my list are mundane regular housewife/mother tasks. However, I have a mindset that even these tasks can be done to glorify my Heavenly Father and that has made all the difference.
So if you are feeling like your life is passing you by and you are just not feeling like you are accomplishing anything this could be the perfect book for you. Just make sure when you pick it up that you are ready to really commit to the work of throwing out your current "to-do list" and allowing God to present His "to-do list" to you. Good luck!
And if you decide to take on the challenge I would love to hear about it! Just leave a message and tell me all the details.

How awesome! Can you tell me the version for HS girls; I mentor a few and would love to check it out!? Thanks for linking up today at Saturday Show & Tell at Cheerios and Lattes! Hope to see you again next week! :)
ReplyDeleteHey Mackenzie - Dannah specializes in pre-teen, teen girl christian writing and motivation. She does great work! One of my favorites with my HS girls is Lies Young Women Believe (I'm working on the review right now actually - come back to see it soon). But check out her information on amazon, and her own site (http://www.purefreedom.org/).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the excellent review! Your blog is a blessing and I am now following it, and I invite you to follow mine, Saved by Grace
