Five Minute Fridays: Bare

Fridays for me a chance to just write, and not worry about anything else - and thanks to Lisa-Jo I don't even have to come up with a topic!  If you're stuck for an idea, check out Five Minute Fridays

Five Minute Friday

Bare

Sure there is an element of baring myself as I write, but I can focus on just writing to a friend, and I won't worry about my words as I fill a blank space. No, for me there is a place where I feel more bare, exposed, than even this world of writing and expressing my own self to the world.

Those quiet times with my Lord.

Those times when I can steal away from the noise of the world and really sit with Him.

I have no problem with the moments I spend in His Word, soaking in His wisdom.  It's the moments of prayer that follow, the other side of our conversation.

The parts where I admit all that I am to Him. The times when I allow myself to voice the fears and dreams I have. The seconds where I sit silently allowing His whisper to soothe my newly bared self.

There is nothing that compares to this quiet time - that is why is so essential to a rooted faith. But the feelings that coming with exposing, baring, myself to Him, they have yet to fade away... which is funny, since He already knows.
