The last few weeks of the year always zoom by... don't they?
The holidays, the traveling, the family time, the traditions, the days off work or school... They all add up to a whirlwind that leaves many of us dizzy. And then what happens?
We start looking forward to how we will fill up the next year of course!
And for all of us book fanatics, that means we start looking up all the wonderful books we will want to read. I have found many I want to read, and many that are simply too interesting to just pass up. So the following list is full of books that are scheduled to be released sometime in 2018, but we all know those are subject to change.
10 Reasons Booknerds Will Love 2018
- Obsidio by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff - This is book three in the Illuminae Files, and I am addicted to this series, like it might not be healthy. So I must have this book... Plus I listen to these as audio books, and they are amazing. Even if you are not an audiobook person, try these, they'll change your minds, so save up those audible freebies. It is scheduled to be released in March.
- Catwoman: Soulstealer by Sarah J Maas - While SJM has been sitting on the back burner of my current reads, I am still a huge fan and am very excited to see how she takes this classic comic character and reinvents her... It is scheduled to be released in August.
- My Plain Jane by Cynthia Hand, Jodi Meadows, & Brodi Ashton - I adored My Lady Jane by these very funny authors, so if they are going to add their brand of humor to the story of Jane Eyre, I am so in! It is scheduled to be released in June.
- Unearthed by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner - I only just discovered this writing duo last month, but am in love. Which translates as I'm more than excited for this new release. It is scheduled to be released in January.
- Shadowsong by S. Jae-Jones - This is the sequel to Wintersong, which I greatly enjoyed last year. I was so interested in the story and swept away by the Goblin King, but when everyone started talking about how it was based on the Labyrinth, I was shocked, because I never saw it and now preconceived notions... needless to say that helped because I'm hooked and need this sequel. It is scheduled to be released in February.
- War Storm by Victoria Aveyard - This is the fourth book in the Red Queen series, and while book two and three were a bit of a let down to me, the first book was strong enough that I still have to know how this whole epic adventure ends. It is scheduled to be released in May.
- Ink, Iron, & Glass by Gwendolyn Clare - So this is a brand new author, and a new book, and I stumbled across it by luck because the idea of the story sounds so amazing. Science and writing are merging to bring a new dystopian like story... I'm already waiting in high anticipation for this one! It is scheduled to be released in February.
- Kiss of the Spindle by Nancy Campbell Allen - So I read her Beauty and the Clockwork Beast two years ago, so when I heard she was putting together a clockwork version of sleeping beauty I knew I must read it! So of course this one is on my list! It is scheduled to be released in July.
- City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab - So this one is another one I'm not too sure about, but Queen Schwab is taking a stab at an MG book... I'm not sure if I'll love it, but I know she is amazing and her stories are fabulous, so of course I had to put it on this list! It is scheduled to be released in August.
- Everless by Sara Holland - The idea of the time being the currency for every aspect of life... well it seems like a story that we could actually live in a few short years... very science fiction, yet real... so I'm curious, and I want to get my hands on it soon! It is schedule to be released in January.
Alright, I know there are a few I will come across and need in 2018 that I don't even know about yet. And I know that there are some books I'm waiting for in 2018, but they haven't be finalized on when they will be released, so you know... we wait...

ReplyDeleteThere are so many coming out! I know there are more I don't even know about
DeleteI've enjoyed Nancy Campbell Allen's historical novels, but I haven't tried her steampunk books yet. Glad to know they're good. I'll have to check them out in the new year.
ReplyDeleteSteampunk is a hit or miss for me - there is so much authors can do with it, but she's a good author so I hope you enjoy them when you get to them
DeleteCatwoman is one of my most anticipated releases of 2018; I really hope Sarah J Maas does her justice.

I know right? I'll admit, I'm a little worried...
DeleteI don't pay much attention to coming releases and just kind of fall over them when I browse Amazon or some blogs! I do keep a check on favourite authors though.
ReplyDeleteyeah I completely understand that approach... often I find yet to be released books on Goodreads recommendations too. It's a helpful tool
DeleteI love comments!!
