Welcome to Sneak Peek Saturday on Reading List!

Sneak Peek Saturday on Reading List a glimpse into what I am reading currently

Current book:

Living in the Shallows

Tani Hanes

Goodreads Summary:

Aileen Foster, a shy, 22 year old student from LA, thinks she has landed a dream job as an interpreter for some actors making a film in Japan. She gets a shock when she arrives in Tokyo and finds out that they are UK Crush, the hottest boyband around. She has been orphaned for most of her life, and it's a shock for her to enter their world of frank physicality. The boys come to love her, and Aileen is forced to look at her life and choices, and decide if she's ready to be brave and start living.

Sneak Peek:

"Was he kidding? They'd just eaten enough carbs to fell a lumberjack. But no, they were all nodding in agreement as they stood and stretched, talking about meeting in Phil's room at 1:30-- who was Phil? -- after grabbing a bite in their rooms."  p 17

Initial Thoughts

I agreed to try this book as part of a book tour because the concept sounded fun... what young girl doesn't dream of such an adventure?  Well, I couldn't make it through the book... {{making a sad face}} the writing just was not good, and there was too much swearing.  I just could not get into it, and I gave up. After checking some of the other reviews on Goodreads, there is quite a mix, so I know there is an audience, maybe you will like this one.  Have you read it?  Tell me what I'm missing...

Here are some rules if you decide to join in:

• Pick up whatever book you are reading (non-fiction, fiction, children's... really the sky is the limit)
• Open to any page you have already read
• Share a few “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page - make it interesting without flipping to a ton of different pages.
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away -- You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so we can all add your book to our To-Be-Read lists!

You can leave your teaser, author, and title in the comments (click over to the web version if you're on the mobile site). Or write up your own post and join us weekly!  Then you can share your link in the comments, and I will stop over and leave you a comment!!!  YAY!
