Five Minute Friday: See

I have to start this post with I'm so glad it is Friday! It's not like this week was horrible, but for some reason I'm so ready for the weekend. And now onto writing for five minutes - just writing, no perfecting or worrying about what someone else might think about my thoughts, just writing.

Right now in this moment I see two things - at least 5 clumps of dog fur on my wooden dining room floor and the gray rain clouds that are keeping the sun from shining.

The clumps of fur have become the bane of my existence since I started staying home with my boys every day. They are always there. No matter when I sweep or brush the dog. I just have to sit for on minute and suddenly a clump of fur just appears. Frustrating!

And the rain clouds - so gray, so gloomy. Even the rain droplets on the window don't add anything great - no special reflection because the sun isn't shining through them.

Why do these little things stand out? Why can't I see the gorgeous original hardwood floors in the dining room like so many guests have commented on? Why can't I see the rain that will help my garden grow and keep me from needing to water it today?

Nope instead I see the clumps of fur and the gray clouds that keep the sun from shining.

Maybe tomorrow I'll see the gorgeous wood floors and the great useful rain that keeps me from watering the garden. But not today.

I really liked this. I really felt your grumpiness and irritation and frustration. I know those days - those endless rainy days and the dirt and the mess and the ick...

Yup, been there. Often. Well, not dog fur, but baby toys. They're everywhere. No matter how often I clean them up. And yes, I see them instead of the rest of the house or even the baby, sometimes.

You've made me notice the beautiful sunshine out my own window today that I hadn't thought to enjoy today. :)

I can't help but sing...."the sun will come out tomorrow.......bet your bottom dollar that tomorrowwwww there will be sun". :)

Wow that rain sounds so good as I sit here in Phoenix it is 112 outside! Some nice rain clouds and a little rain would be so nice! We all have "clumps of fur" and other annoyances in life. Today, the ants we worked so hard to get rid of last weekend were back. It's always something. That's life. Sometimes just a challenge to keep looking for the good. Thanks for posting.
