Welcome to Sneak Peek Saturday on Reading List!

Sneak Peek Saturday on Reading List a glimpse into what I am reading currently

Current book:

Flawed

Cecelia Ahern

Flawed a Sneak Peek on Reading List

Goodreads Summary:

You will be punished…

Celestine North lives a perfect life. She’s a model daughter and sister, she’s well-liked by her classmates and teachers, and she’s dating the impossibly charming Art Crevan.

But then Celestine encounters a situation where she makes an instinctive decision. She breaks a rule and now faces life-changing repercussions. She could be imprisoned. She could be branded. She could be found flawed.

In her breathtaking young adult debut, bestselling author Cecelia Ahern depicts a society where perfection is paramount and flaws lead to punishment. And where one young woman decides to take a stand that could cost her everything.

Sneak Peek:

"I've learned that to be courageous is to feel fear within, every step of the way. Courage does not take over, it fights and struggles through every word you say and every step you take. It's a battle or a dance as to whether to let it pervade. It takes courage to overcome, but it takes extreme fear to be courageous."  p 107

Initial Thoughts

Oh my, this is going to be my favorite book of the year, maybe in the past few years even.  Even only half way through and I love it, the complexity, the society, the social commentary that is echoing our world today... I could go on and on...

Thank you to A Daily Rhythm for inspiring Reading List's Saturday Sneak Peek link up!

Here are some rules if you decide to join in:

• Pick up whatever book you are reading (non-fiction, fiction, children's... really the sky is the limit)
• Open to any page you have already read
• Share a few “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page - make it interesting without flipping to a ton of different pages.
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away -- You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so we can all add your book to our To-Be-Read lists!

This particular link up will be open for a month, so stop by often to share a new sneak peek, and grow your own TBR list!

Welcome to Cozy Reading Spot!

This is your chance to share your posts, and then grab your favorite drink to curl up with and read other's posts.  You are welcome to share posts that tell us what has been on your heart, mind and bookshelves - yes that means just about anything goes.  As book lovers, we love to read, so share something for us to read today!

June's Reading List Freebie

I was going to hold off on this freebie until next month, and add in a few extras, but I couldn't come up with an idea for June... so this month's freebie is for the families with younger kids.  This is a scavenger hunt guide for those outdoor activities you want to take the kids on. Whether it's camping, hiking, biking, or any other time spent outside, just print off a copy of this for each of your kiddos, and have them find each thing on the sheet. Maybe have prizes for those who get it done first? Or find all the objects?  This is a great way to stretch kids during family BBQs and events!

Remember, you will receive these in your weekly email for the link up. So if you are not getting that email sign up!  You just have to leave your email in that annoying pop-up...  Or shoot me an email and I'll add you to the list (my email can be found at the bottom of this page).  Thanks again for being part of the community.

Last Week's Features

Marissa's Favorite

I have to apologize, my kids and I are doing Vacation Bible Camp this week, which means I haven't had the chance to check out all of your posts! So in fairness, I am not going to pick a favorite.  But I'll be sharing the top two popular posts!

Most Popular

Most popular link number one is by Michele from Living Our Days: Persevering in Grace. She shares her thoughts on Looking for Lovely.

Most popular link number two is by Barbara from Barbara Ann Mojica's blog: Doesn't Fit the Mold. She shares a quick review of a fun elementary kids book.

Please link up all you've got!

This is an open link up, not just a book link up...

There are just a few small requests I have.
  • Please link to a direct post, and not just your home page.
  • I wish I didn't have to say this, but please keep it clean. I know books & posts can range the gamut on adult content, but please keep your posts and images clean for this one.
  • Try to stop by another link and say hi. I know we are all busy blogging, reading and writing, not mention living our lives and keeping up with responsibilities - however, what makes the link up so fun is having new people visit your blog!  So spread the love and hop to at least one link for each link you leave.
  • Please include a link back to the hop in your post - the button codes are part of the flair page, but a text hyperlink is just as good! This simply allows others to join in the fun, and isn't that the whole point?
