Five Minute Friday: Afraid

Friday, February 01, 2013

Writing is a break for me.  Life can be so full - the dailies take over and before I know it the day is past. Did I even do anything else? That is why I include play time with my boys and reading books to them on my dailies! Well for me it works...

So committing myself to this space to write, is a chance to for me to breathe in the middle of my crazy life. Which is why I try to link up weekly with Lisa Jo's Five Minute Fridays - if you are feeling the need to take a few minutes to breathe, check it out!

February Feature Blog

Friday, February 01, 2013

The month of February always feel like the real start to the year to me - no rushing into from the holidays, no let down as the new year starts - just another month in which to learn, and grow, and be.

And this month I'm featuring a favorite blog of mine, as I've been reading Keri's Growing In His Glory for months and months now.  I hope you find the time this month to stop by and check out her blog - maybe you'll even find a new friend!

Here's to another week of reading!

Last week's most popular post was from The Proverbs 31 Sanctuary - A revelation in a growing desire to be hospitable.

Personally I really enjoyed the beginning to the Desperate Book Study posts. If you are reading Desperate, or interested in it, this could be the perfect time to give it a chance. Of course I understand schedules don't always permit, but you could always take note and come back when you do have the time!

Desperate Blog Tour - desperatemoms.comMovement -

Please feel free to link up any post you have on reading and books -

This can include lists of books you want to read - books your kids are reading - how you are teaching little one to read - what you read in your Bible this week... the options are limitless!

Please link to the direct post, not just your blog.

If you could stop by some of the others linking up that would be wonderful, as I am hoping to build a community of readers here, not just a pit stop...

And if you add in a link back to the hop (the button code is on the sidebar, but a text link is great too), I'll give you a shout out on Facebook and Twitter...

So let the party begin

You Are Special

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

I didn't need to read the parenting books to know that one of my main jobs as a mom is to make sure my children know they are special because that feeling allows for a feeling of belonging. I think it is fair to say that when we feel like we belong, we don't go searching for acceptance in other places - many of those places being the wrong places.

With this in mind, I have enjoyed reading Max Lucado's You Are Special to my little guys. This book is part of Lucado's The Wemmicks - are you familiar?

Living Like Jesus with GMG

Monday, January 28, 2013

I stumbled across Good Morning Girls sometime in the Summer of 2012. And I've been greatly encouraged by the amount of women who gather for support as we all learn to rely more on God and less on the pleasures of the world.

The best form of encouragement I personally get is through the Bible Studies that GMG host. They provide encouraging posts and videos throughout each study, which I personally love. And the studies can be done anytime of the day, since it's all on line... Which works great because I don't always have the ability to get out my Bible first thing in the morning and do an in depth study of a passage.
